Highlands Adult Speech Therapist
Find the right words, organize your thoughts, and free your voice with a dedicated, experienced Highlands adult speech therapist at Neurorehab & Speech Healers, LLC!
While many people associate speech therapy with the very young who are first starting to develop language, they are not the only people who can experience difficulties with speech development and language comprehension. Adults and seniors can both find that they are struggling to find the right words, properly form sounds, control the volume of their voice, or other cognitive or neurological speech problems.
There are several causes for adult speech impairments, many of which are associated with other disorders, diseases, and traumas. Traumatic Brain Injury, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke, Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other issues can all impact your speech, language, and vocal abilities.
Fortunately, treatment exists to help you improve any abilities that are faltering or lost. Our dedicated adult speech therapists are experienced and motivated to support your recovery. We understand the frustration and loss of confidence that results from speech and language disorders and are compassionate and patient as we work with you during your customized treatment. Senior Speech Therapy
As we age, we often find that many tasks that were once quite simple now present a challenge. One of the most mentally difficult changes that can occur is the loss of vocal ability. When you struggle to find and form the right words, and generally find it more difficult for your voice and ideas be understood, your quality of life can degrade considerably. If you are also struggling with other impairments or disabilities, it can be even more frustrating when you can’t communicate regarding your wishes for your care.
We help you understand the language of others as well as express yourself effectively. Whether you struggle with slurred speech, controlling the volume, pitch, or quality of your voice, have a hard time finding or forming the right words, or struggle to understand the meaning behind other’s words, our senior speech therapists will help you regain your language skills.
Everyone learns differently and progresses along their own timeline when it comes to language recovery. We customize your speech treatment plan to your specific limitations, condition, and abilities. Our compassionate and patient speech experts provide assessments, evaluations, diagnosis, and personalized treatment plans to ensure you are getting the best possible care.
Accident Recovery Speech Therapy
While some speech and language conditions typically affect the older population, adults of any age can experience speech and language disorders as a result of accident or injury, specifically traumatic brain injury.
Those dealing with accident-related speech and language conditions may experience trouble with memory and concentration, recalling common words and phrases, difficulty with thought processing and problem-solving, and may struggle with orientation and spatial reasoning.
Our adult accident recovery speech therapists understand the unique needs and challenges faced by accident victims. Our experience in the field of speech recovery is extensive, with many different techniques and methods available for assisting those facing a variety of cognitive conditions.
We provide assessments, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for adult speech disorders, allowing you to better understand your unique limitations and get the resources and support you need to expand and regain your language abilities.
3 Convenient Speech Therapy Options
As your Highlands adult speech therapists, we are dedicated to making accessing speech therapy easy for everyone! Many of our clients also struggle with reduced mobility, making office visits challenging, or suppressed immune systems, which can make in-person visits unsafe. That is why we provide three options for administering speech therapy.
Outpatient speech therapy is provided in our local office, allowing us full access to an assortment of tools and language therapy instruments. This allows us to easily cater to your unique needs or adjust our techniques immediately if a particular approach doesn’t have the intended effect.
Home speech therapy is performed in your home by one of our certified speech therapists. While some choose this option due to limited mobility, others simply feel more confident working in their own home. We want to make sure all of our patients are as comfortable as possible during their session with our speech therapists.
Virtual speech therapy is an increasingly popular offering, allowing us to assist any patient at any time through digital chat, regardless of their current location. We will supply or help you acquire all of the materials needed for completing your speech teletherapy training session.
We can also provide a combination of therapy settings, and you can choose a different method at any time. Some clients may find that teletherapy is a better choice for them as their therapy progresses, while others may choose this option from the beginning, or never at all. We are dedicated to making speech therapy convenient and comfortable for you, and offering you a variety of convenient treatment options is just one of the many ways we do that.
